The range of a full tank of Adblue is ~10,000 miles, depending on how you drive. The reason for the 1500 miles is that if the car runs out of Adblue the engine is prevented from starting. A warning starts at 1500 miles and counts down to zero. This gives you plenty of time to refill the Adblue. You do not need to reset the counter.

Also adblue is basically urea. Urea and steel do not mix well and will cause advance corrosion. This was accompanied by the adblue light and the service light. Let's hope it is the first possibility. There isn't really an option but to take it to Citroen and have the faults read. I think replacing the Adblue tank is beyond the capabilities of a non-franchised garage, but if it is the sensor you may be able to get it done outside Citroen.
