2017 was the first year the car was changed, so usually the first year will have more issues. Being average after 3 years is decent and wouldn't be surprised if the 2018 model soon changes after more data is collected. (2017 q7 used to be above average too). having good consumer reports reliability isn't really accurate for the first two years

The newer Lincolns are quite nice. I agree with your points about the Q7 and the XC90. If the XC90 had a V6, I would go for that. The Q7 on the other hand doesn't have a spare tire (in the 2018MY). The interior on the Q7 is nice. Exterior is subtle; more attractive with the black optic package and 21 inch wheels.
